    Course information

    i-Lead is a self-directed online leadership course designed to support you to develop your leadership potential.

    • The i-lead course runs over a series of five modules. . Participants are advised to start at module 1 and progress to module 5.
    • Each module is made up of small and manageable self-directed sessions which are interactive and available for you to complete as and when you want.
    • Each session takes around 20 minutes to complete and covers a different topic.

    You do not have to be a Girl Guide/Girl Scout to complete this course - everyone is welcome!

    By the end of this course you can expect the following:

    • A greater understanding of leadership theory
    • An enhanced skills set
    • A global perspective on leadership
    • Access to a global network of other participants who have completed the course

    Each module consists interactive learning sessions, printable PDF handouts and related discussion forums.

    To get the most out of the i-Lead learning opportunity we recommend the following approach:

    • one or two sessions per week (each session takes approximately 20 minutes to complete)
    • Update your learning log regularly
    • Engage in the forum discussions

    Once you have registered take the following simple steps to get started:

    • Complete the learner survey (optional)
    • Select the module of your choice
    • Work through the interactive learning materials
    • Complete your learning log (available to download)
    • Join the discussion forums to engage with participants from all over the world
    • Make a plan to implement your learning

    i-Support will build on the topics you have learned about in i-Discover and help you to to start thinking about leadership in a team context,

    covering the following topic areas:

    • Self-awareness as a leader

    • Developing team resilience

    i-Support is available now.

    i-Communicate, the third module of the i-Lead course, will be available from 30 June 2014  and will cover the following topic areas:

    • Verbal communication
    • Written communication
    • Presenting your ideas
    • Meeting skills
    • Dealing with conflict
    • Negotiation and influencing
    • Communicating in a globalized world

    i-Communicate will provide an in-depth look at the core areas of communication that are essential for a leader to be effective in their role.
